A few months ago, Rafiki had a bold idea: what if our coloring books had a special guide? A character kids could instantly connect with—smart, curious, African-rooted, and a little unexpected. Not the typical “popular” mascot. Something… different. Something with personality.
As we explored African wildlife—scrolling, researching, learning—we stumbled on the secretary bird. Not the first bird most people think of, but striking, powerful, courageous… And she fights snakes all day long. Instantly, we knew: That’s her. That’s Nia.
From that moment, everything clicked. Nia became our spirit guide through the savannah—sharing fun, lesser-known animal facts on each page. She even developed her own custom expressions to match every fact.
And just like that, the path to today was set. Less than two months later, a brand-new book was born.
